Summer - 2003

As I said in the capital concerning our trip, I tried to remember the words that I used to describe our experience. The first word was EXCITEMENT. Since Oct. 2002 my wife and I had prayed and planned for our teaching ministry in this country. As the day came, there was such excitement and anticipation that we could hardly sleep. The training time in the States helped prepare us for what would take place the next 6 weeks. Another word would be FLEXIBILITY!!! Sometimes it was frustrating but God saw us through the changes in schedules, classes, meals and housing. But through it all, God was gracious to us and we were able to complete that which we started. Next, FRIENDLINESS. We were not sure what to expect from the national people but found them to be very delightful and enthusiastic. They were able and challenging with an eagerness to learn. The last word is COMPASSION. Our hearts were burdened for our students that they might hear the gospel. It was a joy to see their faces as we described the reason we give gifts at Christmas and celebrate Easter. While we did not see any fruit, we accept our job as a seed planted and let the rest of the work to God. I also thank the Lord for the opportunity to share the Gospel with a young teacher from England. We are praying that the Lord will bring this young man to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. I would also like to say a word of praise for all of the teachers who were a part of the team this year. They were a delight to work with and as their team leader I could not have asked for a better group. We are hoping to return to this country again and serve Him in this very needy field. Thanks again and may the Lord continue to use Tentmakers for His glory.

Mr. C and his wife returned to this city with WTI during the summer of 2004 and will return again to serve these people through the summer of 2005. Praise the Lord for His faithful servants!
